The Payroll Specialist is a vital role within our Human Resources team in Fiji, responsible for accurately processing and coordinating all payroll activities for WG, Transam, WG Genera weekly and daily paid workers in the Pay global payroll software. The role also ensures that all statutory payments to stakeholders, including FNPF, FRCS, and FNU, are completed accurately and within required timelines.

Job Description

  • Prepare weekly payrolls for WG, Transam, and WG Genera within Pay global, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with ERP, labor laws, and company policies.
  • Process the daily payroll for Casuals ensuring prompt and precise allocation for Recharge.
  • Process special payrolls including annual bonuses, merit increases, and ad-hoc adjustments as required.
  • Reconcile payroll and ensure it is balanced with financial records.
  • Provide payroll reports and templates to Finance for journal posting.
  • Prepare payment vouchers for payroll deductions to facilitate Finance processing.
  • Ensure timely submission of all statutory lodgments to meet compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the payroll system, with consistent updates to stay current with legislative changes.
  • Address payroll related queries and promote a strong customer focus ensuring commitment to quality service.
  • Champion and drive continuous improvements within the payroll workflow to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to company-wide quality and environmental initiatives.
  • Provide support to the NPT Agency payroll personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by HR and Management, providing flexible support across payroll and HR functions.

Qualifications

  • Have qualification related to Accounts/ HR field with minimum 3 years of payroll experience.
  • Proficient at MS Office, especially Excel
  • Good working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Some accounting knowledge for reconciliation purposes
  • Ability to assume full responsibility for tasks and perform them with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Effective time management, including the ability to meet deadlines and operate under pressure with a hands-on /roll up your sleeves approach.
