Job Description
The role:
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this is a 12-month fixed term contract created to assist with current business demands. We are looking for an outgoing and autonomous operator with experience in reconciliations, invoicing and client contact. With strong attention to detail and a willingness to go the extra mile, you are someone with the ability to manage collection issues, process customer claims and assist with a weekly cashflow forecast.
In this role, you will be:
- Closely managing customer collections issues and progressing resolutions to meet weekly targets
- Researching and processing customer claims of invoice payment, chargebacks, returns, and shipment discrepancies
- Assisting with the creation and implementation of a communication schedule to proactively collect on outstanding balances
- Conducting weekly detailed reporting of aging status and issues
- Providing spreadsheet detail and analysis of key customer accounts
- Providing research and support for annual audit requests
- Cashflow Forecasting on weekly basis
- Working closely with our Shared Services Team in Fiji and assisting with receipt allocation
This role is based in Parnell, Auckland. Working as part of a fun and dedicated team, you will be joining the organisation at a busy time. Therefore, the ability to hit the ground running is essential. This team works hand in hand with the wider organisation so you will receive exposure to a wide range of transactions. Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
- A minimum of two years in an Accounts Receivable role is essential
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Experience with Accounting Software such as Oracle, SAP or Xero
- Experience with CargoWise would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people at all levels across the organisation with a team mentality
- An ability to analyse reports whilst maintaining high levels of confidentiality
You will have excellent attention to detail, with a strong attitude to complete tasks correctly the first time. In addition, you will have a good understanding of what “Best Practice” looks like, armed with a “can do” attitude to enable you to fulfil your role.
You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
