Job Description
As the commercial lead for your assigned categories within the Work, Study & Create division (think Art & Craft, Stationery, Business Supplies, Technology or Copy Services), you’ll build and deliver strong financial, strategic and assortment plans that drive growth and customer value.
Reporting to the Head of Planning – Warehouse Stationery, you’ll work closely with Buying, Supply Chain and Store teams to manage OTB, optimise stock flow, trade your product in season, and turn insights/learnings into clear actions — all while delivering against your budget targets.
This is a fast-paced role where accuracy, curiosity and energy matter. You’ll be part of a communicative, ambitious team that thrives on shared problem-solving and commercial thinking.
Key responsibilities:
· Setting budgets and delivering accurate financial forecasts
· Driving commercial planning and supporting category growth strategies
· Partnering with Buyers to build assortments and manage OTB
· Analysing performance and identifying opportunities for future growth
· Optimising stock flow, lifecycle and ROI
· Turning data into compelling, actionable commercial insights
· Communicating clear strategies and recommendations to stakeholders
Qualifications
You’ll bring a solid understanding of retail and merchandise planning, strong financial acumen, and the confidence to work at pace in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
To be successful, you will have:
· Retail merchandise planning experience (FMCG, specialty or general merchandise)
· Strong financial planning, budgeting and OTB management capability
· Commercial acumen and the ability to turn analysis into decisions
· Energy, diligence and a drive for accuracy
· A solutions mindset and the adaptability to thrive in a fast-moving business
