Job Description
As a Government BDM, you’ll be responsible for driving commercial sales within the South Island. You will develop and execute strategies to grow business opportunities, build strong partnerships, and ensure we are top-of-mind for key clients. Your expertise in the technology sector, understanding of customer needs, and ability to leverage key product categories will be crucial in delivering results.
Quick snapshot of the role:
- Being the expert in the catchment - Understanding what is required to win in the region, including understanding the customer, sector and demographic.
- Maximise Business Growth – Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities within the Government sector
- Develop Sector Strategies – Work closely with the Sector Lead to shape and refine strategies based on industry trends, competitor insights, and customer needs.
- Be the Sector Expert – Stay ahead of market trends, customer pain points, and competitive activity to tailor offerings that meet client demands.
- Build Strong Relationships – Collaborate with Commercial Business Managers (CBMs) to engage key clients, co-manage account reviews, and develop partnerships through events and in-store promotions.
- Respond to Tenders & RFPs – Own the process for proposals, ensuring our solutions are competitive, compelling, and customer-focused.
