As the GM Marketing, The Warehouse, you will directly manage a team of six retail and category marketing experts with an indirect reporting line of over 50 team members who are specialists in their field of expertise.
Your deep retail marketing experience and knowledge coupled with your vision, innate leadership abilities, strong influencing skills and exceptional stakeholder management will sum up your success in the role. The pace of this role is fast and matrixed, requiring high comfort in driving throughput in close collaboration with partners among high ambiguity.
Job Description
The Role:
As our GM Marketing, The Warehouse, you will lead a team of high-performing, commercially-minded, marketers to develop, execute, review and continually improve the marketing strategy for The Warehouse. Working closely with The Warehouse CEO and the Group Chief Marketing Officer, you will own and drive all marketing behaviours for The Warehouse and its suite of private label brands.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Own all tactical marketing plans, areas of marketing focus, and marketing promotions for The Warehouse
- Lead brand development/management for The Warehouse and all its private label brands
- Drive the trading business for The Warehouse
- Own the marketing P&L for The Warehouse, with responsibility for key marketing metrics
- Drive The Warehouse brand and experience through content marketing, social channels and community management
- Manage the cadence and calendar of marketing promotions and activities
- Manage and approve all go-to-market plans for The Warehouse brand.
- Deliver marketing levers of all inbound and outbound marketing initiatives
- Lead and provide vision for brand and customer experience, in-store activation, local marketing, brand stewardship, and omni-channel customer experiences
About You:
Your deep marketing background, along with your strategic thinking, trading mindset, and people management experience in large scale, omnichannel retail organisations are a must. You will also bring a successful track record in delivering go-to-market strategies and activation campaigns, with proven experience driving excellence around 360-degree campaigns.
In addition, you will bring the following qualities:
- 15+ years’ experience in related marketing work experience, with an advanced Bachelor’s degree
- Track record of successfully leading high-performing marketing teams
- In-depth understanding of the retail industry across both bricks and clicks
- Ability to work cross-functionally, including influencing and managing relationships effectively
- Strong analytical skills and experience owning and reporting on key business metrics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate simply and clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong relationship and negotiation skills
