Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) is seeking a dynamic Hub & Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operational success of our innovation hubs and student-facing spaces. You will play a key role in strengthening the operational backbone of CIE, delivering seamless experiences for students, staff and external partners and ensuring our hubs are welcoming, safe, high-performing and impact-driven.

As Hub & Operations Manager you will:

  • Take ownership of hub operations, including space activation, logistics, health & safety compliance, vendor coordination and maintenance.
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of co-curricular events, programmes and community workshops across CIE hubs.
  • Lead and refine operational processes — from onboarding hub users to operational reporting, booking systems, risk assessments and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and coach operational staff and student ambassadors, fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Programme Delivery, Marketing, Engagement, Health & Safety) to align hub operations with organisational goals.
  • Support operational planning, budgeting and forecasting for hub activity.
  • Champion exceptional service standards that enhance user experience and reflect CIE’s values.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12 month fixed term role.
The remuneration range for this role is $90,000-$110,000, depending on skills and experience.

You are an organised, proactive professional with:

  • Proven experience in operational management, venue/hub management or a related environment.
  • Strong leadership capability - able to motivate teams, build systems and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • A track record of improving processes and driving operational excellence.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to equity, inclusion and supporting student success.

Desirable: experience in an educational, innovation ecosystem or community hub setting.
