The opportunity

Whāraurau seek an experienced and passionate infant, child and youth mental health and addictions practitioner to take up a key role as our Workforce Delivery Lead to lead and facilitate the activity that supports our Foundations in ICAMHS programme, alongside other deliverables and programmes.  You will plan, resource, deliver and report on this foundational learning, to build capability of the ICAMH, NGO and Primary workforces  across the spectrum of care. These programmes will support the development of knowledge and skills of those in the sector.  You will lead and coordinate multiple projects and subcontractors.

Ideally you will have experience in infant, child and youth mental health and addiction services, and working with their whānau.  You will demonstrate project management and delivery capability alongside your clinical expertise in mental health and addiction issues.  This is a great opportunity to work for a positive and passionate purpose, whilst gaining exposure to national projects of significance that genuinely make a difference.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of training and delivery of Whāraurau work. programmes, specifically in foundational infant, child and youth mental health.
  • Engage actively with the mental health and addiction sector.
  • Manage planning, co-ordination and delivery of project work.
  • Produce and coordinate financial reporting.
  • Lead and collaborate with sub-contractors.
  • Gather and report on sector intel to mitigate risks.
  • Provide key stakeholder management with the mental health and addiction sector.
  • Ensure principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are supported and implemented in delivery of service.

Your skills and experience:

It's essential you hold:

  • Clinical or health sector experience in infant, child and youth mental health and addictions.
  • A minimum of 5 years workplace experience in either clinical services or project management delivering clinical services.
  • Experience with pēpe, tamariki and taiohi (infant, child and youth) wellbeing, addiction and or mental health services in Aotearoa.
  • Understanding of Māori & Pacific approaches to wellbeing and a commitment to promote positive outcomes for tangata whenua and Pacific communities.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of Pae Ora (healthy futures).
  • A track record of effective project and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timelines.
  • Evidence of budget management experience.
  • Flexibility to contribute across several projects, creating positive stakeholder experiences.
  • Ability to plan and facilitate events and workshops, continuously improvement based on evaluations.
  • The ability to travel nationally with potential for weekly travel when required.

Who we are

Whāraurau works to improve the mental health and wellbeing of infants, children, and youth and those who care for them by providing workforce development within the mental health and addictions sector in Aotearoa. Through UniServices, a not-for-profit company of Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, we are contracted by the Ministries of Health and Education to grow the capacity and capability of the infant, child, youth and whānau mental health and addictions workforces. We offer a range of online courses, training, webinars and service supports that are government-funded and easy to access without cost to the participant.
