Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We wish to recruit a Lecturer in Classical Studies and Ancient History (equivalent to Assistant Professor in the North American system) to contribute to the study of Greece and the ancient world. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in ancient Greek language (at all levels) as well as Greek history, literature, art, archaeology or culture, depending on their area of expertise.

An appointment will be made at the Lecturer level. The salary range for this is between $86,979 – $103,904 depending on qualifications and experience. Please note this is a permanent, full-time position 40 hours/ week.

• A completed PhD in Classical Studies and Ancient History or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated achievement in research and a record of successful teaching in a tertiary setting
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and with diverse student learners.
