Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Event Team Leader to join our Event Services Team at the University of Auckland on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. 

Reporting to the Event Services Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated, innovative, and proactive Event Planners, ensuring they understand deliverables and are empowered to succeed. You will also manage your own portfolio of events.

Working closely with key stakeholders you will identify objectives and develop event concepts, create timelines and budgets and manage the event end-to-end. You will also provide expertise, guidance and advice to ensure informed and timely decisions can be made.

This role will be focused on overseeing the event planners responsible for delivering faculty events.

The salary for this role will be between $63,000 and $77,000.

    Qualifications

    He kōrero mōu | About you 

    Our ideal candidate will have 4+ years’ experience in event delivery, and 1-2 years’ supervisory experience or informal supervisory responsibility. University experience would be advantageous.

    You will be able to oversee multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining your sense of humour and professional approach.

    This role will suit someone who has creative flair, who is highly organised, takes a proactive approach and thrives in a busy environment. An understanding of tikanga and kawa for events would be advantageous.

    • Digitally capable including Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
    • Experience delivering virtual events
    • Exemplary written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrable record of strong relationship building and influencing skills
