The role will be reporting directly to the Associate Director HR Services.  The HR Services team are made up of three departments: Payroll, HR Services and HRIT and you will also have close working relationships with the Remuneration and Rewards Team, HR Advisory, Talent & Recruitment, Planning, Finance as well as Managers and Staff across the University.

This is a large team which has created a wonderful culture with a lot of warmth, who celebrate their successes.  They work closely together and are ready to support each other when needed and are always looking at ways to improve their processes to better support the University.

Job Description

The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

The Position Management Analyst role is newly created, permanent full time position and will be the recognized expert in all aspects of position management within HR and the wider University. The role sits within the HR Services team, which covers the management of the University onboarding process, employee contracts and variations, payroll, positions structure management and all HR Systems.  The team ensures that all HR systems are working and data is accurate so employees are paid accurately and accordingly, while providing best advice and stakeholder service.

This role acts as a recognized expert in position management within HR and the wider University.   They provide specialist advise and support on the position management and data quality standards to HR and managers and ensure that position management transactions are accurate.  Ensuring that all transactional support is delivered with a high level of customer service and adhering to the HR Standards, policy’s and guidelines. The Position Management Analyst contributes to the planning, development and implementation of consistent position management processes to release positions for hire in alignment with approved organisation’s structure.

The role will be located at 49 Symonds Street and there is a degree of flexibility around working both on and off site.

We are looking for someone that has a positive attitude and aptitude to pick up knowledge, high attention to detail and working towards 100 % accuracy in term of their work.  A person that has strong and effective communication skills that is not only thinking of process and why we are doing things (specialist advise) but is looking at educating the wider University regarding policy and process (ability and skills to contribute to high level planning, development and implementation to the University Organisational Structure).

Important Skills/ Experience| Nga Pūkenga Motuhake

  • High level of attention and data entry accuracy.
  • Understanding of complex business support processes.
  • Understanding of data structure, data integrity/pattern recognition.
  • Strong focus on Customer Experience and relationship management/problem solving efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of wide range of HR Policies and Systems.
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office, Excel, SharePoint, HR Systems, Organisational structure tool.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Tertiary qualification in HR/Business or equivalent gained through practical experience and study.
