Salary: $130,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience
Sign-on Bonus: Up to $10,000

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (L&D) to oversee a busy Labor & Delivery department in a high-acuity hospital setting. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity to lead a team of over 140 staff members while managing a 40–50 bed L&D unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs daily operations of the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

  • Leads 24/7 operations, managing approximately 143 staff across multiple beds.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with staff while promoting accountability and performance.

  • Collaborates with physicians, administration, and other departments to drive outcomes in patient satisfaction, safety, and engagement.

  • Mentors and develops clinical leaders and fosters a culture of excellence.

  • Monitors staffing, budgets, and resource allocation to optimize patient care.

  • Implements evidence-based practices to maintain compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • BSN required

  • RN license in the state of Texas or compact license

  • Minimum 5 years of acute care L&D RN experience

  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in L&D (Required)

  • Proven results in employee engagement and patient satisfaction

  • Experience with Studer culture and performance coaching is highly desirable
