Job Description
As the Senior Accountant – Credit & Accounts Receivable, you will support the company's financial health through a combination of general accounting, customer credit management, accounts receivable oversight, and financial reporting responsibilities. This role is responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, customer credit evaluations, collection support, cash flow optimization, and compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Treasury, and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective management of customer credit risk, timely collections, and strong working capital performance. You will also support audits, process improvements, and finance transformation initiatives while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and compliance.
Key Accountabilities:
General Accounting
- Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and investigate account variances.
- Support treasury activities, cash reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, US GAAP, and IFRS.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Credit & Accounts Receivable
- Evaluate customer credit risk and maintain credit limits.
- Process credit applications and maintain customer master data in SAP.
- Monitor customer aging, collections, and overdue balances.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Service to resolve payment disputes and improve cash collection.
- Prepare AR aging, credit exposure, and credit insurance reports.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and ERP enhancements.
- Assist with special projects and other finance-related responsibilities as assigned.
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.
- The scope of this role is not limited to the duties listed and may expand to include general ledger accounting, treasury or other finance responsibilities as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or related finance roles. Experience with SAP is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and resolve issues professionally.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting the implementation of scalable financial solutions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
