Job Description
The role will report directly to the Security Pre Sales Manager. The Security Managed Services Presales Consultant will support the sales team by delivering pre sales expertise to drive technical conversation and solutions to client challenges in order to help successfully close business. This will be delivered both onsite in front of clients as well as remotely.
The Security Managed Services Presales Consultant will have responsibility for driving managed services opportunities in addition to general security portfolio opportunities by shaping responses, scoping engagements, and ensuring suitable knowledge on security products and subjects is maintained for yourself and within the sales teams. Ownership of larger requirements and tender responses will form a large portion of the day-to-day role.
It is expected that suitable candidates will have a general understanding of Cyber Security Principles and Technologies and Services such as
- Penetration Testing
- Cyber Frameworks
- Remediation and Risk Mitigation
- Cyber Advisory
- NIST
Deep Knowledge of the following must be demonstrated.

Telefonica Tech will provide adequate training to help the presales consultant develop across all of the lines of business as well as on selected partner tooling.
Responsibilities
- Undertake all technical pre-sales calls and meetings for managed services and wider security opportunities.
- Actively participate in the sales process working to proactively develop security opportunities
- Provide accurate scoping information for the sales team
- Provide technical due diligence information for incorporation into each sales proposal
- Ensure the highest possible rate of conversion of opportunities to ‘won’ business
- Take an active role in evangelising the security message throughout the business as much as the client base.
- Drive knowledge improvement and sales enablement throughout the presales and sales communities.
- Prepare responses to Request for Proposals and Request for Information highlighting the security capabilities of the organisation
- Build and nurture relationships with partners and vendors in support of the product team and alliances team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team, such as sales, marketing, product management and service delivery, to ensure a seamless sales process. Provide input on product development, pricing strategies, and go to market plans;
- Engage early with Service Delivery teams when scoping security solutions for customers to ensure those solutions are fit for purpose for all parties;
- Clearly articulate and document delivery requirements to security delivery teams, providing effective handovers to ensure successful outcomes and smooth transitions into support;
- Liaise regularly with Service Delivery teams to understand any day-to-day operational challenges and mitigate their impact, where possible, in future services and solutions;
- Support the creation of marketing materials to support the marketing teams with wider marketing plans and strategies;
The Security Managed Services Presales Consultant will also be required to:-
- Remain up-to-date with specialist skills and market trends
- Remain current with all required accreditations and certifications
- Undertake rudimentary training in other technical pre-sales specialisms in order to provide cover as required

Essential Skills
- Strong technical background.
- Qualification such as CISSP would be preferred.
- Accreditations in any of the named Vendors would be desirable.
- Solid Experience in either presales or delivery
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Presentation skills to a variety of audiences including c-suite
- Strong understanding of wider infosec domains. NIS, NIST, SANS etc
- Understanding of Incident Response and SOC services are essential.
- Networking and complex IT estate architectural knowledge is essential.
