Job Description
We are seeking an experienced KDB+ Developer to join our dynamic global team supporting a high-performance Equities Execution (EE) and Prime Brokerage (PB) platform. This platform is critical to our client's trading operations, processing tick-by-tick data and driving algorithmic trading, client reporting, and P&L calculations.
The role requires expertise in KDB+ and low-latency environments to ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of the system, which is essential for avoiding costly errors.
As the sole Americas-based member of the QKTS team, you will be responsible for delivering key projects and providing support during US business hours. You will work closely with team members in London, Lisbon, Hong Kong, and the US to ensure the smooth operation and development of the platform.

Role and responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support the KDB+ market data ticker plant deployed globally.
- Maintain the quality and integrity of market data critical for algorithmic trading and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the business to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for delivering solutions, including working with other IT groups to define hardware infrastructure and deploy KDB+ components.
Participate in architectural design discussions to shape the platform's strategic direction. - Provide Level 3 support during US business hours, ensuring timely issue resolution and operational stability.
Liaise with global teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration on platform development and support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance or Quantitative finance
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with KDB+ at a reputable firm.
Advanced expertise in KDB+/q (Q for Gods skill level), with daily coding experience. - Proficiency in C++/Python and KDB+ scripting.
Strong understanding of Equities markets and trade flows. - Experience working in a low-latency, high-performance environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Experience working in a distributed, multi-skilled team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end delivery, including infrastructure setup, deployment of KDB components, and establishment of monitoring systems.
The salary range for this role is US$100,000 - US$160,000
