Job Description

The Role
As the Low Carbon Communications Manager, you will play a key role in our efforts to shape the narrative around sustainability, climate action, and the low-carbon transition. You will lead a small, dynamic, and influential team dedicated to helping our clients understand and navigate the complexities of achieving net-zero emissions. Your role will be crucial in elevating our clients' voices to influence and drive change at a national level.

Responsibilities

Communication Leadership: Lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies that advance our clients' low-carbon agendas. This includes crafting compelling messages, narratives, and campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences, including policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the general public.

Content Creation & Thought Leadership: Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including reports, policy briefs, blogs, press releases, and social media content. Ensure our communications are evidence-based, well-researched, and aligned with our clients' goals.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and media representatives. Represent our clients at meetings, conferences, and public forums, advocating for policies and practices that support the low-carbon transition.

Team Management & Collaboration: Manage and mentor a team of communications professionals, ensuring high standards of output and fostering a collaborative work environment. Work closely with other teams, including policy, research, and digital, to integrate communication strategies across all projects.

Business Development: Support business growth by identifying new opportunities for expanding our low-carbon communications services. Develop proposals, participate in client meetings, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company

Qualifications

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications: A relevant degree in communications, public relations, energy policy, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in a communications role, with a focus on sustainability, energy, or public affairs. Experience in leading teams and managing complex projects is essential.

Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex issues into clear, concise, and impactful messages. Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills are crucial, as is experience in engaging with media and public stakeholders.

Strategic Thinking & Creativity: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative communication strategies that drive engagement and influence. A proactive approach to identifying emerging trends and opportunities in the low-carbon sector.

Organisational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, policymakers, and industry partners.

Passion for Sustainability: A deep commitment to the low-carbon transition and a desire to contribute to meaningful change in the fight against climate change.
