Job Description

  • Discipline Leadership: Lead the instrument engineering team, manage project workload, progress, quality and cost, formulate discipline execution plans, and regularly report project status, technical risks and solutions to stakeholders.

  • Engineering Design: Oversee and approve all instrument engineering deliverables; design and optimize core systems including DCS, PLC, SIS, ESD, F&G and metering systems; participate in P&ID review, HAZOP study and SIL assessment to meet offshore functional safety requirements.

  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Conduct technical bid evaluation, vendor technical assessment and document approval; lead FAT inspection, resolve equipment technical deviations and manage full-cycle vendor technical support.

  • Site & Commissioning Work: Provide on-site technical guidance for offshore instrument construction, conduct loop check, system debugging and commissioning; troubleshoot on-site faults, complete final technical documentation and project handover.

  • Cross-team Coordination: Act as the primary technical interface for instrument discipline, coordinate with clients, cross-functional teams and third-party authorities, and update team with latest industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or above in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or related majors; 8+ years offshore oil & gas/marine EPC instrument engineering experience, including 3+ years team leadership experience; FPSO/subsea project experience is preferred.

  • Professional Skills: Proficient in offshore instrument system design and harsh environment (explosive, corrosive, humid) instrument selection; familiar with IEC, ISA, API, ATEX standards, HAZOP and SIL verification; skilled in AutoCAD, SPI and common office & project management tools.

  • Soft & Language Skills: Fluent in English for full technical communication and client docking; possess strong leadership, problem-solving ability, pressure resistance and cross-department coordination capability with rigorous engineering work attitude.

  • Preferred Certifications: CFSP/SIL functional safety certification, PMP certification, offshore oil & gas professional certificates.
