Job Description
The Head of IT for Hungary is responsible for leading all IT operations, services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, manufacturing applications, and digital initiatives across TAPI's Hungarian manufacturing sites in Debrecen and Sajóbábony.
As the senior IT leader for Hungary, this role serves as the key interface between local business leadership and global TAPI IT, ensuring reliable, secure, compliant, and efficient technology services that support manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, laboratories, and business operations.
The position combines leadership of local IT teams with ownership of site technology strategy, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives in a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Site IT Leadership
- Lead all IT activities across the Debrecen and Sajóbábony manufacturing sites.
- Provide strategic technology leadership aligned with TAPI's business priorities and global IT roadmap.
- Act as the primary IT partner for Site Leadership Teams and key business stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of enterprise technologies, standards, and best practices across both sites.
Manufacturing & Business Technology
- Ensure reliable operation and continuous improvement of manufacturing, laboratory, engineering, and business-critical systems.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and process optimization.
- Support implementation and lifecycle management of manufacturing and plant systems.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, data visibility, and business performance.
Infrastructure, Cybersecurity & Service Delivery
- Ensure stable, secure, and compliant operation of all local IT infrastructure and services.
- Maintain high levels of service availability and end-user support.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives and ensure compliance with corporate security policies and standards.
- Accountable for protection of IT assets, infrastructure, networks, and electronic data.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure IT systems comply with applicable GxP, Data Integrity, validation, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, controls, and governance processes for regulated and non-regulated systems.
- Ensure adherence to TAPI policies and procedures related to Quality, EHS, Security, Data Integrity, and Compliance.
Project & Vendor Management
- Lead local IT projects from planning through implementation and operational handover.
- Manage local technology vendors and service providers.
- Oversee procurement of IT hardware, software, and services.
- Ensure effective delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timelines.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for the Hungary IT organization.
- Monitor spending and ensure effective allocation of resources.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining service quality and compliance.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Hungary IT team.
- Set objectives, manage performance, and support career development.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing IT professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in IT leadership within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other regulated environment.
- Proven track record leading IT operations, infrastructure, service delivery, and local IT teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and business-critical systems, cybersecurity, and IT governance.
- Experience partnering with senior business and site leaders to deliver technology-enabled business outcomes.
- Knowledge of GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), Data Integrity, and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, contracts, and technology projects.
- Familiarity with SAP and other enterprise applications is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and Hungarian.
