Job Description
Job Purpose
To ensure the reliability, safety, and sustainability of plant infrastructure through effective planning, execution, and control of civil maintenance, facility upgrades, and capital projects. The position is accountable for contractor management, budget utilization, regulatory compliance, project delivery, and continuous improvement of civil engineering systems while supporting operational excellence and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Infrastructure Management
- Lead planning, scheduling, execution, and supervision of civil engineering projects and infrastructure upgrades across plant and non-plant facilities.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, and engineering teams for design and execution of civil projects.
- Ensure effective maintenance of plant infrastructure, buildings, utilities, and civil structures through proactive monitoring and improvement recommendations.
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and deploy contractors based on project requirements; conduct regular performance reviews to monitor safety, quality, and timelines.
- Manage tendering activities, BOQ preparation, technical evaluations, and purchase order execution.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare project proposals, budgets, and cost estimates; monitor expenditures and drive cost optimization initiatives.
- Verify contractor bills, process SRVs/GRVs, and ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining budget compliance.
Compliance, Quality & Safety
- Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and Quality Assurance requirements; implement corrective and preventive actions from audits and inspections.
- Deliver safety and cGMP training to contractors and workmen; maintain all required documentation related to civil projects and GMP compliance.
Material & Documentation Management
- Inspect and approve civil construction materials; maintain project documentation, contract records, and conduct material reconciliation and project closure activities.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering preferred.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with relevant experience.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering, project execution within pharmaceutical industry required.
