Job Description

🚨 We’re looking for a vigilant Safety Professional with a strong command of regulatory compliance, risk analysis, and industrial hygiene. If you excel in implementing safety systems, conducting HAZOPs and audits, managing hazardous materials, and driving emergency preparedness and training programs, this opportunity to elevate safety culture and performance at a high-impact manufacturing site is for you.

How you’ll spend your day:

  • Implement and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management system implementation.
  • Coordinate EHS internal audits, customer audits, global EHS audits, third party safety audits etc.
  • Coordinate monthly council meetings and management review meetings, safety committee meetings etc.
  • Preparation of Onsite Emergency Plan and implement the key elements of OSEP.
  • Coordinate with key personnel to conduct onsite and offsite mock drills as per requirement.
  • Review and authorize high-risk works at site as per work permit system.
  • Responsible for preparation of MIS reports, OPEX and CAPEX budgets etc.
  • Prepare procedures of the Safety Management System at site in line with global standards and guidelines.
  • Providing technical input for new projects and approval of the new project drawings.
  • Analyze accidents, incidents & near miss incidents to find the root cause, suggest remedial measures and monitor for completion of corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Identify training needs of the site and implementation of training calendar for employees and contractors.  
  • Conduct firefighting training and emergency plan training to all employees.
  • Maintain all critical safety equipment is maintained, calibrated and operational.
  • Conduct safety promotional activities like National safety week, Fire safety week and other campaigns as per site requirement.
  • Drive contractor safety management at site, review safety performance of contract employees and identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Identify and ensure compliance of regulatory requirements applicable to the site. 
  • Track the site KPIs and Global KPIs and ensure that target is achieved.
  • Develop and implement job safety instructions, safe operating procedures, safety systems, safety checklists, permit-to-work systems, and on-site emergency plans.
  • Ensure EHS GEMBA program implementation at site and track observation closure.
  • Evaluate the safety performance of contractors as per Contractor Management SOP.
  • Perform any other job or activity assigned by the reporting manager or management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be:

  • Education: B.Tech. (Chemical) or B.Sc / M.Sc. (Chem)

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of industrial experience. We are ideally looking for candidates coming from API / Chemical / Specialty Chemical Industry.

  • Key Skills: Good understanding of EHS statutory requirements, process safety and Safety procedures, Industrial Hygiene, Good trainer, Understanding of GMP.
