Job Description

At TAL, our Group Life & Retirement team plays a meaningful role in helping millions of Australians access life insurance through superannuation and build greater confidence for the future. Partnering with leading superannuation funds and teams across TAL, this role contributes to the continued strength, simplicity and integrity of the way we support our partners, members and customers. As TAL grows its retirement capability and responds to the evolving needs of Australians, this role helps create clear, consistent and sustainable ways of working that enable better outcomes across the business. This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

In this role you will:

  • Strengthen governance frameworks that clarify accountabilities and support effective decision-making across GL&R.
  • Enhance assurance practices to ensure Group insurance policies are administered in line with obligations and partner expectations.
  • Deliver clear insights from reviews that drive timely management action and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate partner review programs that support regulatory confidence and strong partner outcomes.
  • Improve operational effectiveness by guiding stakeholders on practical, sustainable governance and process uplift.
  • Support incident and breach responses that protect partner relationships and enable timely, coordinated outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bring experience in superannuation and/or Group Insurance, with a sound understanding of how the two sectors connect.
  • Lead multiple projects or programs with confidence, helping deliver business change and improved ways of working.
  • Use analytical thinking to identify opportunities, solve problems and support practical, evidence-based decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across teams, communicating clearly with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Stay organised and adaptable in complex environments, balancing priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of CPS230 and CPS234 obligation will be highly regarded
