Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Actuarial Systems team, a critical function supporting TAL’s actuarial and finance operations. The role is responsible for delivering system enhancements, development initiatives, and ongoing improvements that underpin key actuarial and financial processes, including liability and capital valuations, embedded value reporting, and business planning.
Working closely with stakeholders across Finance and Actuarial teams, the position plays an important role in ensuring systems remain robust, efficient, and fit for purpose, while driving continuous improvement and supporting evolving business needs. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with business impact, contributing to the delivery of critical insights that help inform strategic decision-making across the organisation.
In this role you will:
- Support the Actuarial System team in the design, build, test and implementation of Actuarial projection models (using the prophet enterprise platform)
- Analyse and specify data requirements (variable names, formats, attributes) for prophet model inputs and outputs
- Modify DCS processes to maintain system integration points in line with model changes
- Contribute to the build and implementation of data flow process interacting with the IDR (Insurance Data Repository for Prophet model inputs and outputs) to meet IFRS reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Qualified Actuary (or nearly qualified)
- 7+ years life insurance experience
- Deep knowledge and experience with Prophet (programming language and software operation)
- Strong technical skills in programming and data analysis, and strong SQL skills and Excel skills
Desirable:
- Experience in designing or managing databases
- Commercial acumen
- Experience with Atlassian software workflow and documentation tools – JIRA and Confluence
