Job Description
Join Australia’s leading life insurer as a People and Culture Consultant. Reporting to the People and Culture Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for providing advice and supporting People Leaders on a broad range of people related initiatives and activities.
You will partner with our People and Culture Business Partners in managing employee relations/industrial relations cases, while leading and manage projects and recurring operational activities.
This is a permanent role, working flexibly from our Sydney office.
In this role you will:
- Provide people advisory support and consultancy to People Leaders around the range of human resource “lifecycle” activities.
- Take ownership and accountability for the management of employee relations/industrial relations cases, including but not limited to performance management, misconduct, and formal investigations.
- Provide support to the People and Culture Business Partners by taking ownership, as required, of specific activities relating to organisational changes, such as planning, co-ordination and document preparation, attending and supporting consultation and outcome meetings.
- Provide complex People and Culture policy interpretation and advice on employment related legislation to the wider business.
- Deliver management reports that provide insights in support of robust operational management.
- Facilitate manager forums, training events, and other meetings to a diverse audience, as required.
- Support People Leaders in the design and delivery of return-to-work plans for returning employees.
- Manage tasks through the CRM portal (ServiceNow) and working within agreed SLAs.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to own and manage complex employee relations/industrial relations cases through relevant People and Culture processes and employment legislation.
- Strong knowledge and ability to interpret including but not limited to, the Fair Work Act 2009, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work within an agile and fast-paced environment whilst navigating through ambiguity.
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage own time and deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills to articulate technical issues with stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and experience working with a HRIS, such as Workday.
