Job Description

The Director will be responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective movement of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from construction sites. The Director of Logistics will coordinate all supply chain activities, from procurement and transportation to storage and delivery, while ensuring compliance with all safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

  • Develop and execute the logistics strategy in alignment with the company’s project timelines and goals.
  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and field operations teams to ensure seamless material and equipment delivery to construction sites.
  • Analyze logistics performance and identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization. Cash flow management
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and equipment, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors. Budget, Billings and Schedule updating and reporting to senior level team members
  • Develop and manage the logistics budget and track expenses to ensure the company meets its financial objectives. Interface with operations team members
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation laws, including DOT regulations and OSHA standards for the safe transport of goods.
  • Oversee handoff of equipment to commissioning team for startup and commissioning activities.
  • Promote and enforce safe practices within the logistics team, ensuring that proper safety protocols are followed during transportation and handling of materials. Manage submittals. RFIs, owner and vendor / sub invoicing
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team, including transportation managers, warehouse personnel, and coordinators.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, training sessions, and safety workshops for staff.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding logistics-related issues.
  • Regularly update senior management on logistics performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., operations, procurement, construction management) to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Manage submittals and RFIs for equipment procurement.
  • Monitor drawing changes and communicate to vendors and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required
  • 8+ Years in Logistics with leadership experience
  • Construction industry experience, preferred
  • Data Center experience, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES

  • Must be proficient in: Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and CAD/Visio
  • Individual must be driven, hardworking and dedicated, required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, required
  • An energetic self-starter with a “can do/whatever it takes” attitude who can perform under pressure, work successfully on tight deadlines and identify and resolve problems as they arise, required
  • Open to frequent travel
