We are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager of Communications, Europe to join our Global Communications team on a full-time, permanent basis, reporting into the Director of Communications.
The Senior Manager of Communications, Europe, supports the creation and execution of an integrated communications strategy for Sysco across its European markets. Working in close partnership with the Director of Communications, this role will ensure regional alignment to Sysco’s enterprise communications framework, the Sysco Way of Communicating. Driving consistency and excellence in execution across Europe to deliver accessible, relevant, and engaging internal and external communications that enhance Sysco’s reputation, drive engagement, and foster advocacy.
This role is offering remote working contract that will require travel commitment to our London, Covent Garden office and occasionally EU offices and as such a good degree of self-motivation and flexibility is required.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Communications in developing and delivering the Sysco Europe communications strategy.
- Develop communication plans and messaging for regional initiatives, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver consistent, effective internal and external communications that drive understanding and engagement.
- Manage the execution of campaigns and events that bring the Sysco story to life across European markets.
- Deliver engaging communications that inform, align, and inspire colleagues around Sysco’s purpose, strategy, and transformation journey.
- Manage regional internal channels (intranet, newsletters, events, etc.), ensuring clear, consistent messaging.
- Partner with local communications leads to share best practice and cascade key messages effectively.
- Ensure adherence to the Sysco Way of Communicating and brand standards across Europe.
- Track and report key metrics to demonstrate impact and continuously improve the quality and reach of communications.
- Lead development of global communications tools, templates, and reporting frameworks.
- Support external storytelling and reputation-building activities in European markets.
- Develop and coordinate regional media opportunities and thought leadership initiatives in line with the global narrative.
- Support crisis and issues management for European markets, ensuring alignment with Sysco’s global response protocols.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in corporate communications, preferably in a complex, matrixed, or multinational business and the ability to translate complex business priorities into clear, engaging communications. You’ll have experience leading communications for business transformation or change initiatives and be confident collaborating across diverse markets and cultures. The role requires strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and experience in crisis and issues communication. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt style for different audiences. It’s highly desirable to have experience within the foodservice, retail or FMCG industry, and experience managing agencies / external vendors.
Fluency in additional European languages would be highly advantageous
