Job Description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta’s HSE is seeking a HSE Manager Mesoamérica in México.

Accountabilities
 

  • Partner with sites and/or functional managers to determine HSE priorities, establish service level agreements and lead the design and delivery of solutions to ensure the HSE capabilities and culture to drive the achievement of HSE business goals and reducing the associated risk. Work with regional HSE Specialists to design customer focused and tailored HSE service portfolio.
  • Advise management on all HSE aspects including changes in local /code of practices, present and future risks and HSE people development within territory scope.
  • Support leaders in developing the HSE capabilities and resources required to enable delivery of business strategy.
  • Take the accountability for local implementation of HSE operational process (reporting of injury and illness, environmental issues and auditing)
  • Provide expert and well – balanced technical HSE advice and ensure all processes / operations are managed in line with Syngenta Code of Practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Establish a proactive process to monitor compliance with Syngenta HSE code of practices and applicable legal requirements according to the size and nature of the risks in the operations.
  • Contribute / lead Mexico and CAC HSE projects defined on the Global strategy.

Qualifications

Required 
 

  • Degree in Science, Engineering or related Technical subject
  • Detailed operational knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management systems and working knowledge of existing and under developing relevant HSE legislation
  • Appropriate national / international qualifications in HSE management or a specialist HSE discipline
  • Project and change management skills and experience
  • Minimum experience of 10 – years in regional HSE Management at Corporate / Country / Cross – Sector
  • OH&S and Environmental Management Systems
  • Advance English
  • Business Management of HSE
  • Risk Management
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess and resolve problems and conflicts
  • Ability to influence and gain support
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders
  • Negotiation and prioritization
