Job Description

  • Own and manage local procurement spend across all in-scope Direct Procurement categories: Packaging, Co-Formulants, Tolling, Logistics and 3rd Party AI.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with ~42 local suppliers and manage the full supplier relationship lifecycle, including performance, risk and contract management.
  • Initiate, lead and deliver cost-savings and value-improvement projects against annual financial targets, including ~12 major projects per year supporting Pakistan commercial and cost initiatives.
  • Continuously identify and progress sustainability-linked sourcing solutions and opportunities across the supply base.
  • Partner closely with Regional Category Managers to shape and execute regional category management strategies, ensuring local market needs are represented and regional programs are localized effectively.
  • Play a critical role in New Product Introduction (NPI) launches, including:
  • Moulds and packaging development
  • Co-formulant qualification and Post-Production Change Request (PPCR) processes
  • Tolling sourcing, where required
  • Cost analysis and timeline negotiation with suppliers
  • Manage and enable suppliers to achieve local third-party government registration and compliance requirements, including PSQCA (Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority) and SFRI (Sindh Food Regulatory Institute).
  • Act as the primary local point of contact for day-to-day interactions between the Pakistan supply chain/commercial teams and local suppliers.
  • Monitor and manage local supply, quality and commercial risks, escalating and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure procurement activities are conducted in line with Syngenta's procurement policies, compliance standards and ethical sourcing principles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field; a relevant Master's degree or procurement certification (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
  • Several years of relevant experience in procurement, category management or supply chain roles, ideally within the agrochemical, chemical, FMCG or manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing projects and cost-savings initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Pakistan's regulatory landscape for chemical/agrochemical products (e.g., PSQCA, SFRI) is highly desirable.
