Job Description
At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta’s Supply Chain Management Team is seeking a Supply Chain Lead in Slater, IA. This role will be the single point of contact for Regional Production & Supply and Demand Management for the allocation process.
The Supply Chain Lead owns and executes robust allocation planning processes supporting Supply & Planning (P&S), commercial execution, and financial reporting. Leads allocation process improvements, stakeholder alignment, and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) execution. Partner with Product Management and Commercial to improve demand forecast accuracy and reduce forecast bias through data-driven insights at the local level.
Accountabilities:
- Allocation Planning & Execution: Own and execute allocation processes for corn and soy; create and maintain allocation tables; daily monitoring and adjustments.
- Supply–Demand Alignment: Manage harvest simulations, quality losses, constraints, seed size shifts, and backorders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Demand Planners, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service.
- Performance & Analytics: Develop Seeds KPIs, dashboards, and data-driven insights.
- Data & Systems Enablement: SQL reporting, analytics/IT liaison, order system testing, forecasting tool responsibilities.
- Process Improvement & Change Leadership: Drive IBP and allocation process improvements and change adoption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; agriculture and seeds industry knowledge; supply chain systems understanding.
- 2–5 years’ data analysis; supply/demand planning or allocations; cross-functional experience.
- Advanced analytics (SQL, AI); Excel/PowerPoint; effective communication; influence and change leadership.
- Stakeholder alignment, constrained supply decisions, IBP execution, influence without authority.
