Job Description

Purpose
This role is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements, Syngenta policies and business objectives. This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and external parties to minimize contractual and business risks, maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensure agreements are executed effectively throughout their lifecycle.

Accountabilities
Main accountabilities of this role are the following: 

Contract Drafting and Negotiations:

  • Draft, review and revise a wide range of commercial, vendor and partnership contracts (a focus lies on main infrastructure, utilities and maintenance suppliers like CIMO at Monthey).
  • Negotiate contract terms to ensure favorable conditions for Syngenta.
  • Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations and all Syngenta policies.

Contract Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of all contracts in a centralized way.
  • Track key dates, deliverables and obligations to ensure timely renewals or terminations
  • Monitor contract performance and enforce agreed terms and conditions

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify potential contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Advise site management on contractual rights, obligations and liabilities.
  • Ensure all contracts adhere to internal compliance and governance standards.

Stakeholder Improvements:

  • Work with legal, finance and procurement teams to align contract terms with the site objectives and strategies.
  • Act as the point of contact for contract-related queries from internal and external partners.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop and maintain contract templates, paybooks and best practices.
  • Recommend improvements in contract processes for efficiency and risk reductions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or finance, or bachelor’s degree in the field (Supply Chain, Chemistry, Civil Engineering or Construction). Master’s degree will be considered a plus.
  • At least 5+ years of proven work experience in contract management in complex manufacturing/industrial environment combined with experience across diverse suppliers in the field (production, engineering, maintenance, HSE, etc.).
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken), any other language a plus (German).
  • Great attention to detail with high level of accuracy combined with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
