Job Description
Maintenance Technician position to support daily production needs and capital project activities at the Omaha agro-chemical manufacturing site.
- Performs basic preventive/corrective maintenance and investigates problems with mechanical equipment including gear boxes, pumps, rotary air locks, valves, conveyor systems, heat exchangers, etc., following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, basic troubleshooting of malfunctions.
- Maintains function and reliability of production and facility systems and associated equipment by executing a preventive maintenance program.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, rigging, and hand/power tools.
- Provides feedback on equipment condition while performing preventive maintenance activities.
- Carry out daily maintenance activities and assigned work orders. Document progress and results.
- Basic understanding with control systems for air compressor, boilers, HVAC and packaging equipment.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; works within site policies & procedures.
- Effectively use safety equipment such as respirators, protective clothing, and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain and improve safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; work within site policies & procedures.
- Identify gaps in PM procedures/processes based on mechanical knowledge, with emphasis on greasing, lubing, etc. to extend life of the equipment on site.
- Promote a pro-active maintenance culture.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year, 3 years preferred, in an industrial setting or in the military.
- Critical technical, professional, and personal capabilities: mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, capable of operating a forklift, continuous learning, applied learning, teamwork, managing work & time, and safety awareness.
