We are looking for an energetic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our Palmerston North village. Ideally you will have experience in events, hospitality or aged care, but more important to us will be your genuine love for all kinds of people from all walks of life.

You will plan and facilitate a programme of activities and exciting events for our residents, providing quality resident support, managing vulnerable residents and communications with families. You will need to be kind, patient and have great communication skills, while a good level of fitness will prove useful for delivering the best exercise programmes, regular outings, sporting and recreational events.

This is a Fixed-Term role for 12 Weeks. You will also have the ability to work 5 Days a week, a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight.

Qualifications

  • Positive “can-do” behaviors that results in a harmonious relationship for staff and residents
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to convey an idea and engender enthusiasm and interest
  • A genuine interest in working with older people and a positive attitude to ageing
  • Good written communication skills that target the audience and medium appropriately
  • Strong organisation skills, ability to multi-task
  • Computer literacy with using Microsoft Outlook (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • An event management or hospitality background would be an advantage
  • Current first aid certificate
  • A current driver license

Additional Information
