Job Description
We are looking for a high-impact IT Director to drive our technology strategy through hands-on leadership. You will be a technical anchor for a small, agile team. You will be responsible for the strategy, budget, and governance of our IT department while remaining actively involved in resolving challenges and issues alongside our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Active Technical Leadership: Act as the final escalation for the team. You will work directly with the Senior System Administrator to resolve critical outages, systemic bugs, and infrastructure deployments.
- Strategic Governance: Design, implement, and personally oversee our security posture, disaster recovery plans, and compliance frameworks.
- Operational Efficiency: Streamline the flow of work from initial support intake to final resolution. You will identify recurring technical debt and lead the hands-on effort to automate or eliminate it.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Own the IT P&L. Negotiate with vendors, manage software licensing, and ensure we are making smart, lean investments in our hardware lifecycle.
- Mentorship & Quality Control: Provide direct technical mentorship to the IT team members. You will set the standard for documentation, ticket resolution, and system stability by example.
- Project Execution: Lead and actively participate in key IT projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the world of retail is a plus.
- Advanced Infrastructure Knowledge: Must be comfortable in the weeds of:
- Server administration (Windows, Hyper-V, Dell PowerEdge, Pure Storage);
- Networking (Fortinet);
- Cloud architecture (Entra ID, M365, Azure).
- Security-First Mindset: Proven experience implementing security protocols and managing cyber-incident responses.
- Decisiveness: Ability to make high-stakes technical decisions quickly during outages without needing to "outsource" the thinking.
- Communication: Ability to pivot instantly from a technical deep dive with the Sys. Admin to a strategic ROI conversation with executive leadership.
