Job Description

The Learning & Development Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's training and development initiatives by collaborating with various departments to identify training needs, design learning materials, and facilitate training sessions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about employee development and organizational growth. 

Job Responsibilities  

 

Learning Content Development: 

  • Identify training needs by working with leaders and business stakeholders 
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to create learning materials in adherence to process and standards 
  • Ensuring the quality of deliverables 
  • Keeping up with current trends in corporate adult learning as part of our continuous improvement approach 

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:  

  • Assist in managing user accounts in the Learning Management System (LMS), including adding new users and updating existing user profiles.   
  • Support in assigning learning modules to employees and tracking completion status.   
  • Help troubleshoot basic technical issues related to the LMS and escalate more complex issues to the appropriate personnel. 

Learning Program Assistance:  

  • Aid in cataloging learning assets, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible within the LMS.   
  • Assist in maintaining Sharepoint sites related to learning and development, updating content as needed and optimizing for ease of access for end users.   
  • Support in scheduling learning activities such as workshops, webinars, and training sessions.   
  • Supporting the Director through the management and coordination of resources and inputs to ensure timely delivery of learning projects.  
  • Help with logistical arrangements for learning events, including room bookings, materials management, and attendee registration.   
  • Supporting continuous improvement by looking for efficiencies and improvements. 

Administrative Support  

  • Provide general administrative support to the Learning and Development team, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.   
  • Communicate with employees to provide information and support regarding learning opportunities and initiatives.   
  • Collaborate with team members on special projects or initiatives as assigned.   

Learning Management System (LMS) Support:  

  • Assist in running routine reports to track learner progress and completion rates 

Evaluation and Feedback:  

  • Deliver post-training evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives 
  • Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders and report it to support continuously improve training programs. 

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)   
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy   
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written   
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment   
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of learning and development 
  • Passion for learning and employee development 
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills 
  • Analytical mindset with a problem-solving orientation 
  • Team player with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field, is preferred 
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in organizational development, instructional design, training, education, and/or building curriculum 
  • Some experience in an administrative role, preferably in an office environment 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) 

Travel Requirements

  • Travel may be required as necessary for this position 

Expected Compensation Range: $62,500-$104,500
