We are currently seeking an Senior HR business partner that will help deliver strategic and proactive HR support to assigned leaders and employees in the UK based in our beautiful London office. 

This role will partner with senior assigned leaders & managers to define and execute specific people agendas, derived from business and HR strategy, focused on employee experience, talent management, future of work, employee engagement and more.

To be successful in this role, you must understand strategic business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work. You will help senior business leaders look around corners with evidence-based recommendations that improve performance, retention and the overall employee experience.   

Job Description

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Act as the first point of contact and trusted Senior HR Partner for assigned UK departments.
  • Provide proactive, solution-focused HR support aligned with strategic business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to UK employment legislation, policies and collective agreements, offering clear and confident advice to senior leaders.
  • Lead or support change management initiatives and contribute to broader UK HR priorities.
  • Contribute and support annual HR Wheel processes for assigned departments (e.g., performance, reward, talent reviews).
  • Develop and implement local HR processes where global guidance does not yet exist, ensuring relevance to UK needs.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with the global talent acquisition team to deliver excellent recruitment outcomes.
  • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment cycle, including participation in interviews when required.
  • Contribute to workforce planning, capability development and succession discussions with senior leaders.

Employee Relations & Policy

  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent handling of issues.
  • Ensure employment policies are understood and applied effectively across the UK business.
  • Leading change management initiatives such as redundancy processes and restructures 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach and develop the HR Advisors, ensuring high‑quality HR delivery and deputise for the HR Manager.
  • Work effectively across the Statkraft matrix—partnering with global HR, corporate HR and shared services teams to deliver a cohesive, seamless HR experience for leaders
  • Participate in UK and global HR projects, representing local needs and sharing best practice.

Qualifications

  • Relevant university degree
  • MCIPD or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in both operational and strategic HR roles
  • Experience from working in an international matrix organisation 
  • Experience collaborating effectively with employee representatives 
  • Robust knowledge and practical experience of UK employment legislation
  • Strong business understanding and ability to provide data-driven advice to leaders. 
  • Flexible, proactive and able to work with ambiguity and change 
  • A willingness to learn and try new ways of working.  
  • Ability to be strategic but can role up sleeves and be operational as needed
