Job Description

NOTE: This role does not offer Relocation or Sponsorship. Applicants must be eligible to work in Jersey.

To manage first-line business risk and control activities across International Wealth & Investments by providing risk-related advice, assurance, oversight and constructive challenge to business stakeholders. The role ensures that Anti-Money Laundering, operational, client and wider business risks are identified, assessed, managed and reported in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies, standards and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: 

  • First Degree in Business Commerce

Experience Required :

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a related banking risk and control environment.
  • Extensive general banking experience across the full spectrum of banking operations, client interactions and business processes.
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge in managing AML, operational risk, first-line controls, assurance activities and stakeholder risk support within financial services.
  • Demonstrable experience in interpreting regulatory requirements, assessing control effectiveness and providing practical risk guidance to business stakeholders.

Key Outputs :

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex AML, operational risk and other business control matters raised by the Business Risk Management team or the wider business, ensuring issues are assessed, resolved, escalated and tracked effectively.
  • Deliver guidance and training to promote awareness of, and compliance with, applicable regulations, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Identify trends and provide meaningful insights from risk, control and incident data by analysing information recorded in relevant systems and recommending appropriate corrective action.
  • Drive and maintain effective Risk and Control Self-Assessment processes by engaging with relevant stakeholders, assessing control effectiveness and supporting the remediation of identified weaknesses.
  • Ensure operational risk incidents are appropriately identified, recorded, escalated and monitored, with accurate information available for analysis, dashboards and management reporting.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business risk management frameworks, control systems, processes and practices by identifying gaps and supporting appropriate remedial action, identifying opportunities to improve or automate processes to strengthen efficiency, consistency and the effectiveness of the control environment.
