Job Description

To provide strategic leadership, operational and  oversight for the underwriting, distribution and operational functions and conferred mandates  within channel of responsibility. This role is essential for aligning growth and operational strategies within channel of responsibility overall business objectives while fostering internal collaboration and ensuring effective risk management across the portfolios within the channel.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study:  Business Commerce, Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Law, Engineering, or a related field. (Required)
Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree
Field of Study:MBA, Masters in Finance, Risk Management, or relevant professional qualification. (Preferred)     - FAIS Representative and Key Individual certifications. (Required)
 Profesional Designation : Associate or Fellow of The Insurance Institute of South Africa (AIISA or FIISA)

Experience Required
Insurance
Minimum of 12 years' progressive experience in the short term insurance industry. At least 7-10 years must be in senior management roles, with demonstrable experience in managing large, multi-functional portfolios (e.g., incorporating underwriting, claims, operations). Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans, managing significant budgets, leading large teams, and driving operational excellence and risk management in a complex regulatory environment..
