Job Description

Standard New York, Inc. seeks Associate, Client Coverage in New York, NY, to support client coverage relationship managers with banking US multinational clients across Standard Bank Group’s Africa footprint in 20 African countries. Develop customized presentations, conduct in-depth research on clients using financial databases, industry reports, and business analysis tools, and analyze client’s financial performance and profitability to make product recommendations. Conduct ad-hoc research on specific industries, macroeconomic, political, and financial trends at the request of Executives or the sales team. Support the sales team in structuring Client Service Team meetings by gathering relevant data, creating agendas, and providing up-to-date presentations. Assist in developing comprehensive strategic plans for clients, including market analysis and long-term growth strategies. Engage with internal stakeholders to gather necessary data for evaluating financial viability and ensuring transaction execution is another key responsibility. Assist in preparing New Business Approval Committee papers and ensure correct process recording in Salesforce, a customer relationship manager (CRM) tool. Support client manager in reviewing legal, financial, and other documentation, and liaise with clients to provide updates, request documentation, and gather critical information. Collaborate with internal teams to address client inquiries and ensure timely responses is essential. Track and update the business pipeline by engaging with the sales team and identifying growth opportunities. Ensure data accuracy by collaborating with sales and finance teams and providing actionable insights is also part of the role. Manage and oversee the support requirements of the CEO and other Executives through co-ordination of Strategy presentations and documentation, business reports, and other required materials. Lead client onboarding processes and act as KYC champion for Standard New York. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and escalating threats in a timely manner is crucial. Serve as Salesforce champion for the New York team, guiding and helping the team on Salesforce features and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics or a related field
  • 3 years  experience in the job offered or related occupation: supporting sales team in growing relationship with clients by gathering data, analyzing financial performance and profitability, and making product recommendations; developing opportunities and ensuring transaction execution through engagement with internal stakeholders, assisting in preparation of documents for Committee approval and ensuring register in CRM; serving as Know Your Customer (KYC) lead for client onboarding processes including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, escalating risks, reviewing legal and financial documentation, and liaising with clients to provide updates, and documentation; supporting team as CRM lead, including creating and extracting reports, managing records, and creating marketing campaigns; utilizing experience with financial markets and products including working capital financing, short term loans, letters of credit, guarantees, money markets, foreign exchange, derivatives, advisory, mergers and acquisitions, long term loans, and structured debt and structured financing; and utilizing CRM tools including configuration and applications. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site.

  • The offered salary is between $118,248 and $140,000 per year. 40 hours per week.
  • The successful incumbent must be eligible eligible to work in the US immediately on a permanent basis.
