Job Description
As the Executive Officer: Brand & Marketing, you will lead the transformation and execution of a country-wide marketing, brand, and communications strategy that strengthens our reputation, grows demand for our brand, and ensures consistent delivery of impactful client experiences. This role requires a bold strategist, an influential storyteller, and a collaborative leader capable of navigating complexity and inspiring cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
Additional Information
Experience:
- 5+ years senior leadership experience in brand management, marketing strategy, and communications across multiple industries or markets.
- Proven ability in developing and managing powerful brand and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in data-led insights, digital marketing, and integrated communication.

- Drive the full expression and protection of the Standard Bank brand in-country, ensuring consistency, relevance, and strong reputation management.
Marketing & Communication Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing, digital, communications, PR, and events strategies, underpinned by research and insights that drive brand visibility, business growth, and competitive, client‑centric marketing.
Client Experience & Market Insights
- Ensure marketing initiatives deliver excellent omnichannel client experiences by embedding client, employee, and stakeholder insights that shape relevant and effective brand and communication solutions.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Strengthen collaboration with Business Lines, Exco, and key stakeholders while leading the marketing team’s capability development, talent strategy, and high‑performance culture.
Operational & Financial Excellence
- Manage significant marketing budgets efficiently in partnership with business units and oversee the planning, measurement, and evaluation of brand and marketing effectiveness to optimise ROI and overall performance.
