Job Description
To perform various tasks and activities, including supporting the management and maintenance of IT systems at Standard Bank. Help ensure systems are stable, secure, and operate smoothly by monitoring, resolving issues, applying updates, and assisting with the deployment of new solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve system performance and ensure high availability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
- Project management experience is advantageous
Additional Information
Experience:
- 5-7 years' of which 1-2 years should have been in a supervisor role.
- Hands-on experience working with various technologies in managing different systems, including tasks like setup, configuration, and maintenance.
- Ability to monitor system performance and take steps to optimise efficiency. Experience supporting data backup and recovery processes to ensure data protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, enhance and/or optimise parts of the SDLC or incident lifecycle to improve the reliability of the data asset management platforms and ensure both the platforms and infrastructure are always-on and always secure.
- Collaborate as a team to eliminate platform inefficiencies, monitor applications, reduce rework, simplify work practices, define metrics, and ensure operational quality of applications.
- Collaborate closely with CIOs, business stakeholders and the Enterprise Data Office to produce and maintain standards, guidelines, and data asset management consumption and usage patterns.
- Build, enhance and/or optimise parts of the SDLC or incident lifecycle to improve the reliability of the data asset management platforms and ensure both the platforms and infrastructure are always-on and always secure.
- Develop, document and collaboratively execute the processes and procedures needed to ensure successful data and infrastructure recovery in the event of a disaster or failure.
