Job Description

To be accountable for delivering the Signature Banking objectives within the Western Cape, aligned to the overall Private Banking strategy. The role is responsible for driving client growth, revenue generation, and the seamless integration of multi-product and wealth solutions across affluent and high-net-worth client segments.

As Head, Signature Banking, you will lead the execution of the Signature Banking value proposition within Private Banking, ensuring consistent application of Private Banking standards, practices, and toolkits across the region. The role requires strong strategic capability, commercial insight, and leadership excellence to deliver an elevated and integrated client experience that supports Standard Bank’s broader Private Banking objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the delivery of Signature Banking client growth, ecosystem measures, and revenue targets in alignment with Private Banking’s national objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Private Bankers to deliver integrated financial, lending, and wealth solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Champion a client-centric and performance-driven culture, ensuring consistent application of the Signature Banking value proposition and Private Banking standards.
  • Collaborate strategically with Credit, Wealth, and other internal partners to optimise client outcomes, manage risk, and strengthen market presence.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelors Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field (FAIS-recognised qualification).
  • Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Leadership, or Financial Management.
  • Regulatory Requirement: Must meet the Fit and Proper requirements in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act and be accredited as a Key Individual (RE1).



Experience Required

  • A minimum of 8–10 years’ experience leading, integrating, and delivering client sales and service within a Private Banking or Wealth Management environment.
  • Proven experience in credit structuring, portfolio management, and risk governance for affluent and high-net-worth clients.
  • Demonstrated success in sales leadership, business growth, and revenue optimisation, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of financial services products, multi-product integration, and client value propositions across banking and wealth solutions.
  • Experience in leading regional or national teams within a Private Banking franchise.
  • Exposure to strategic market development and client segmentation in competitive and evolving financial environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships across Credit, Wealth, and other internal business units to deliver integrated client solutions.
