The Product Compliance Team is at the forefront of imagining and realizing Block’s bitcoin and decentralized identity products. As the Product Compliance Lead for TBD, you will manage a team of Product Compliance Managers who support a broad range of Block’s bitcoin and stablecoin products including the Bitcoin Hardware Wallet (Bitkey) and Lightning Services (c=). This compliance management role requires executive relationship building and coordination with critical stakeholders across Legal, Product, Engineering, Partnerships and BTC Operations to gain a deep understanding of our product goals and to manage stakeholder expectations. 

The Product Compliance Lead reports directly to TBD's Head of Compliance and will manage a team of Product Compliance Managers who support new product initiatives for TBD, c=, Bitkey, and other emerging initiatives for Block.

You Will:

• Develop the vision, strategy and execution plan for the Product Compliance team for TBD, c=, Bitkey and any related products and services at Block.
• Manage the overall execution of all compliance programs and controls and oversee a team of product compliance professionals responsible for supporting Block’s products and strategic initiatives
• Develop strong, sustainable relationships with critical stakeholders and executive leaders including Engineering, Product, Partnerships, Legal, and Operations.
• Review all deliverables and compliance requirements documents to ensure that they are of the highest quality, fully comprehensive and accurate, and can be understood by the appropriate audience
• Provide real-time subject matter expertise and guidance to Block’s product managers and engineers, as new products and services are being developed or enhanced, to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
• Actively search out potential risks (compliance, regulatory, financial, fraud, etc.) and surface these risks, together with proposed solutions, to the appropriate stakeholders
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulatory changes, industry best practices and the overall industry landscape to ensure our compliance controls are both compliant and creative
• Advocate for Compliance's mission and manage relationships across the company to ensure that the team is well positioned from concept to execution

You Have:

• Strong digital asset compliance subject matter expertise in any or all of the following areas: bitcoin exchange custody solutions, self-custody wallet solutions, or regulated blockchain exchange or payments services
• 10+ years of experience in a compliance project/product management role, and at least 5 years experience as a people manager
• A practiced democratic or collaborative management style
• Exceptional interpersonal skills gained through experience collaborating and working with cross-functional partners
• Highly effective executive communication skills and experience creating persuasive arguments and presentations intended to educate and influence others
• Solid understanding of blockchain technology, decentralized ecosystems, and regulated cryptocurrency products and services
• Intense professional curiosity and a growth mindset

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
