Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Risk Quality Control Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the quality control process for our risk management operations. The Risk Quality Control team lead will play a key role in ensuring that our risk management practices comply with regulatory standards, meet the needs of our banking partners, and align with the company's overall strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and oversee the risk quality control framework and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Review risk management practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor and analyze key risk indicators to identify emerging risks and ensure timely intervention
  • Build, maintain, and refresh testing programs to conduct assessments against established internal policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that risk management practices are integrated across the organization
  • Manage and mentor a team of risk quality control analysts across multiple risk verticals
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties as needed
  • Communicate risk management policies and procedures to stakeholders, including senior management

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a successful track record of implementing processes that scale
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal), with an ability to build partnerships and establish rapport and credibility at all levels
  • An ability to work independently to manage multiple ongoing projects and programs with high attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated/directed
  • Experienced working with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Proven analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of an organization (verbal and written)
  • Thrive in an ambiguous environment where you are encouraged to build processes that will enable seamless execution of change management initiatives

Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience in risk management, quality control, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • 5+ years experience leading individual contributors and managing projects
  • Certification in risk management, quality control, or a related field is a plus

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900
