Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic, financial and operational decision-making across the company. We are looking for a Finance & Strategy Senior Analyst, reporting to the Corporate Finance & Strategy Manager. This position will sit across Block’s business unit ecosystem and provide support to the Finance teams within Block. This position will interface with other Finance & Strategy team members to develop an intimate understanding of the overall business, as well as multiple different operating models. Insights are developed through frequent cross functional communication and coordination with our partners, and formulating how each of Block’s business units would operate as stand alone businesses.
Qualifications
You Will:
- Help guide the financial planning process for Block's Corporate Finance team, focusing on workforce planning and operating expenses across the business. This includes forecasting and reporting on every personnel related expense, as well as headcount planning and reconciliation across the company.
- Contribute to recurring management/ Board of Directors reporting and monthly deliverables including P&L summaries, close slides, and business performance metrics.
- Apply expertise of Block's shared services (Foundational Teams) to each of the teams within Block's ecosystem, to analyze each business unit as stand alone businesses.
- Develop a deep foundational understanding of Block's P&L and flow of finances to create insights used for financial analysis and scenario planning.
- Collaborate with the Finance Transformation and Business Technology teams on strategic transformation programs to improve accuracy and automate current reporting processes.
- Partner with cross functional teams including: Foundational F&S, Real Estate, Compensation and Benefit Teams.
You Have:
- 3+ years experience within Corporate Strategy/FP&A, or at an Investment Banking or Consulting firm. We are looking for candidates that have grown within an impact-focused environment, performing complex modeling and analysis.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or similar relevant field experience are most ideal.
- Analytical skills and excellent proficiency in financial modeling.
- A creative mindset and desire to cultivate lasting impact, you have a deep interest in exploring new solutions and delivering outcomes.
- Experience with analytics tools such as (Hyperion/Oracle/SAP) and data visualization tools including (Tableau) or similar software.
- A desire to brainstorm with team members of all levels across varying lines of the business.
- Experience in the payments industry and a commitment to our purpose of Economic Empowerment.
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $125,600 - USD $153,600
Zone B: USD $116,800 - USD $142,800
Zone C: USD $110,500 - USD $135,100
Zone D: USD $100,500 - USD $122,900
