Senior Product Manager, Partnerships
- Full-time
Company Description
Job Description
We're building a bitcoin wallet for the next 100M bitcoin users - importantly for people around the world who likely haven't yet used bitcoin as a savings tool or for its payments capabilities yet. Our goal is economic empowerment -- starting with bringing easy-to-use, reliable wallet that helps people around the world own and manage their bitcoin, rather than having to rely on a number of tools and services that don't work well together and are challenging to use for a wide global audience.
Our goal is to make the future of money intuitive, and safe while enabling customers to build a better financial future. We're assembling a team experienced in an extremely wide range of disciplines, including business, operations, design, software, hardware, security, and so many other aspects of product delivery. Come build the future of money with us!
This role can be based anywhere in the US, UK, Sweden, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Mexico, and Spain - as well as a few other countries upon review. The Senior Product Manager will report into the Bitcoin Wallet Team's Head of Business.
Qualifications
You will:
Build seamlessly integrated partnerships experiences across our self-custody bitcoin wallet for customers across 6 continents
Drive the product vision and build out key capabilities that help customers (a) buy and sell bitcoin with services provided by exchange partners and local payments partners; and (b) discover, sign up, and payment experiences in our partner channels (e.g. telcos and retailers)
Partner with engineering and design to create seamless end to end experiences in collaboration with our partners
Drive critical infrastructure decisions and determine when we should build to partners' API platforms or build our own APIs to scale
Partner with our Partnerships Business Development Lead to explore and vet new partner opportunities, including measuring the projected and actual return on investment in driving incremental growth and retention and improved product metrics - and importantly look across our existing partners to determine impact for our customers and business metrics
Find new ways to solve meaningful customer problems, including advancing the role of bitcoin as a payment method globally, through strategic product integrations with merchant services, as well as integrations with key cross-border payments and international remittances partners, payroll partners, etc.
Understand and influence our partners' product roadmaps to improve the customer experience, API performance, reporting and overall efficiency and scalability of the product and partner relationships.
Champion the customers' needs across different customer segments (e.g. new to bitcoin, existing bitcoin customers who use a custodial solution like Coinbase, Cash App, etc)
Develop, experiment with and launch sustainable business models that drives revenue while thoughtfully scaling costs
Understand the global and local nuances across bitcoin management for consumers in over 100 countries, knowing when to go deeper vs not across dozens of countries - a global mindset is key
Partner across Block to ensure we are leveraging the right experience and learnings while still moving fast as part of a new team
Lead cross-functional efforts and help create useful process (e.g. helping the engineering and design teams think across product stages, in scope vs out of scope, etc)
You Have:
6+ years of Product Management experience.
Built API products - or consumer/business-facing products that have been heavily reliant on API integrations with partners
Domain expertise in API-driven software integrations, payments, fintech, e-commerce, or crypto
Technical acumen needed to define requirements with internal and partners' engineers and designers (you get excited about diving into API capabilities and API docs with your engineering counterparts to problem solve and build great experiences; you don't have to understand at the technical level 100% of the API docs but you should know enough to understand product capabilities and what they can enable)
A track record of developing high-impact product capabilities that either (a) enable key partnerships experiences or (b) rely on key partnership capabilities with significant internal and external dependencies
Business acumen to evaluate new partnership opportunities and the specific product investments needed to create value to the shared customers, to the partner and to Block
Humility and leads by example, setting the right context and helping teammates do their best work
