Do you have a passion for ensuring that people have the right skills to excel in their job and reach their career potential? Block's Learning Team looking for an enthusiastic, curatorial, and creative Instructional Designer with a background in producing virtual learning experiences. You will develop both asynchronous learning experiences, eLearning, and virtual instructor-led experiences for learners across the globe. You will work with content creators and LMS specialists to develop best-of-class learning curricula. You will report to the Learning & Development Lead.

You Will:

Learning design

  • Design, implement, and iterate on training courses and programs for a variety of audiences through technical expertise in learning management solutions, course design, and e-learning tools.
  • Ensure adult learning principles and a systematic instructional design process is applied to create learning content that best fits the needs of the learner (includes online, virtual instructor-led training, and blended learning content).
  • Develop exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies.
  • Keep pace with developments in the industry, instructional design best practices, tools.

Partner on important programs

  • Work with SMEs and partners to understand needs, create design documents, and gather insights to improve the effectiveness of the learning solution.
  • Guide partners through a collaborative design process to ensure development, and feedback loops.
  • Support standardized metrics and evaluation processes across learning programs to ensure data-driven approach when evaluating and addressing learning needs.

Learn at scale

  • Advise on technological learning solutions and methodologies to enhance the efficiency of learning programs.
  • Use project management tools and skills to manage medium to large-scale content development projects.
  • Maintain a portal of curated learning content, using our existing ecosystem of technology for delivery across all audiences.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience developing e-learning programs in a business/technical setting.
  • 2+ years of experience with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate) and design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud).
  • Experience leveraging learning management systems and/or other content delivery platforms (e.g., publishing and managing courseware).
  • Experience building relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders and working across boundaries.
  • Understand adult learning theories and instructional methodologies to evaluate learning effectiveness using instructional design assessment strategies.
  • Direct experience developing adult education curricula, training materials, and content to include online/e-learning modules, instructor-led materials, job aids, online tutorials, multimedia products (video, graphic, audio), and other training assets.
  • An eye for visual design and a passion for creating great user experiences..
  • Is willing to take a risk and experiment with new learning methods and tools.
  • Portfolio required to apply.
