Job Description

We are hiring a Product Marketing Manager in our London office to accelerate the delivery and growth of Square products in the UK market, including our flagship Square Point of Sale. You will make a quantifiable impact on our business through leading the go-to-market strategy, localisation and execution for new product and feature launches. You will also use seller feedback, insights, and data analysis to advocate for feature improvements that enhance Square's existing product offering in the market. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with our product teams in the US and partnering with local team members to ensure the success of our products in the UK market. We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, self-directed, and excited about helping us better serve the businesses who use our products.

You will understand product strategy, growth marketing, positioning and messaging, and have strong experience working with cross-functional leadership.

You Will:

  • Identify target customers, their needs, and how products will meet those needs through surveys, interviews, and product usage
  • Develop product positioning, value propositions, and messaging to be used in product development and marketing campaigns
  • Lead the go-to-market plan, ensuring that all customer-facing teams are on-message and maximising each channel
  • Develop and implement data-driven lifecycle marketing strategies to achieve product growth and retention
  • Help our US-based product teams engage with the UK market and understand the experiences of the small businesses we serve
  • Partner and collaborate with Product Management, Design and Engineering to ensure product strategy and feature roadmap support UK market needs
  • Review our offering and lead ongoing product differentiation
  • Track marketing program performance and improve through continuous testing
  • Be comfortable tackling challenges big and small

Qualifications

You Have:

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years professional experience
  • 5+ years working in strategy consulting, product marketing or growth
  • Background in B2C marketing with prior experience delivering growth in consumer tech, fintech, payments or SMB tech
  • Experience in growth or lifecycle marketing by email, in-product, content marketing, and other owned/ earned channels
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfort in a face-paced, start-up environment
  • Genuine interest in and curiosity in helping small businesses succeed
