Job Description
As our North American Accounting Manager you will be a part of a highly valued Finance team. Expected to be self-managed and driven by team goals, you will have the opportunity to take the ownership of the day to day accounting and financial operation functions and our recent migration to Oracle. Together with the North American accounting team, you will help implement accounting procedures that will allow us to scale our business as we expand. You will also help improve finance systems and be a key player in the global close process.
Own aspects of the North America month end close processes, working closely with the Block parent and AU teams to ensure Global Accounting Policies and reporting timelines are adhered to
Drive process improvement efforts and ensure scalable processes and strong controls to support business growth
Have strong knowledge of revenue accounting and US GAAP and can apply to an ever changing, fast paced environment
Support the Group Tax team on local tax issues, reporting and transfer pricing issues
Deal with external auditors to ensure timely completion of quarterly audit reviews and full year audits; Also lead local statutory reporting requirements for the Canadian entity
Play an important role in improving processes around our use of Oracle, our ERP system
Create and initiate new processes and procedures to support expanding team deliverables driven by business expansion
Support the North American team members who are involved in operational tasks i.e., merchant settlements, accounts payable and payroll
Be the key stakeholder for new initiatives
Ad hoc finance projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance
CPA preferred
Strong attention to detail
Experienced in MS Excel
Have an ability to influence decisions
Proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiency
Hunger to learn, apply skills, and grow within the organization
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables
Experience with ERP systems, Oracle, (Microsoft Dynamics), Hyperion, Workday, Salesforce and Expensify
