Square Invoices is the easiest way for merchants to close sales and collect payments remotely. Our customers rely on our products because they are well designed, easy to use, and integrated with their business. We focus on building the best tools to help our merchants close sales and get paid quickly, anywhere, at any time. At the same time we are doing this in an efficient and scaleable way, making smart choices about how to automate critical functions for our merchants. We area full stack, product oriented team, spanning across engineering, design, product, and marketing. As a member of the Invoices mobile team, you will work within Square’s Point of Sale codebase and have the ability to impact all of the apps in our ecosystem including our Invoices app.

You’ll need to…

• Be proficient in Java and/or Kotlin for development (we use both).

• Enjoy working on mobile apps at all levels – from networking up to user interfaces and whatever’s in between.

• Build high availability and highly resilient systems which can accept and report payments no matter the network or device conditions.

• Collaborate with iOS, Android, and Server engineers to ship features.

• Work with product managers and designers to refine and define product scope and design.

• Respond to customer feedback to improve our products.

You have:

• 5+ years professional experience in software engineering

• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other functions, such as designers, product managers, data scientists, marketing, and business development to deliver a great product

• An appreciation for the connection between the software you build and the experience it delivers to customers

• The ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers of varying experience levels

• The ability to adapt to the different stages of product development. This can mean building intentionally scrappy code to iterate quickly, or building a sustainable system that will support our product for years to come.

• Demonstrated, first hand experience building products at scale
