Head of Bitcoin & Crypto Policy, Block

Job Description
We are looking for a senior policy and government relations expert to lead crypto policy for Block. You will be an expert on crypto policy and regulatory issues, with an ability to speak to both technical and policy audiences. You will have experience managing complex policy matters, working with many partners to guide outcomes, and advocating on behalf of issues at the intersection of financial services and technology. You will collaborate with other teams and with Block executives and senior colleagues in product, operations, compliance, legal, and communications. You will report to the Head of Global Policy.
You Will:
- Engage with Block executives, product leadership, policy colleagues, regulatory and product counsel, and compliance teams to develop a strategic global crypto policy plan.
- Advocate for positive policy and regulatory outcomes in the crypto space, and craft positions for us that will further establish us as leaders in this industry.
- Develop thoughtful strategies for both proactive and reactive engagement on important government actions across the globe, and coordinate implementation of that engagement across Block businesses.
- Build coalitions through relationships with industry policy partners, advocacy groups and academics. You will also manage our primary crypto trade associations, advisory bodies, and consultant contracts.
Qualifications
You Have:
- 15+ years of experience in public policy work, with a preference for experience in government, financial services, and technology sectors.
- Experience in cryptocurrency required.
- Experience navigating complex and technical policy issues, with multiple partners.
- Experience developing policy proposals, regulatory comment, and working with coalitions.
- Experience working collaboratively across internal teams.
- Advocacy skills and an ability to explain complicated issues and policy positions to any audience.
