Job Description

You will report to the Compliance Testing and Monitoring Manager and will support the Global Compliance Testing and Monitoring Program.  This includes supporting Block’s compliance mission by working side-by-side with compliance, counsel, and business personnel located in Canada, Australia, and the EU/UK. The scope of your work will include, but will not be limited to testing compliance with local requirements (e.g, European Banking Authority (EBA) requirements, Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) requirements,  Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements, Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) requirements,  AML/CFT/Sanctions laws, etc).  We are open to this position being located in the US, Canada or Australia. 

You will:

  • Independently plan, scope, document, and execute repeatable compliance reviews, monitoring activities, and validation testing.

  • Test the adequacy and effectiveness of the operating and control environment, including policies, procedures, processes, and systems. 

  • Conduct reviews and queries of multiple databases and systems.

  • Mentor junior testing managers or regulatory program managers; provide guidance on how to resolve complex issues by applying advanced subject matter knowledge and expertise. 

  • Effectively cross team and service boundaries to solve complex problems.

  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Develop a deep understanding of Block’s compliance framework. 

  • Develop and cultivate collaborative business relationships with stakeholders.

  • Communicate compliance issues and prepare compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and storing accurate and verifiable information.

  • Help others with regulatory examinations and independent reviews as needed.

  • Consult with corporate attorneys to address complex compliance issues.

  • Maintain knowledge of applicable compliance laws and regulations and identify latest compliance risks.

  • May participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 8 years of experience required in regulatory compliance testing, internal audit, or compliance program management

  • Experience building relationships and establishing trust and credibility with business leads, financial institution partners, and regulators through collaborative and independent projects

  • Experience conducting database queries and using data visualization tools (e.g., Looker)

  • Experience managing multifaceted assignments

  • Experience using Google Applications (e.g. Sheets, Docks, Slides, Mail)

  • FinTech or payment services experience

Even better:

  • Prior experience testing French language documentation

  • Professional Certificate and Diploma in Compliance (LCOI)

  • Certified Financial Crime Prevention Practitioner (CFCPP) or CAMS Certification

  • Diploma in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or  Compliance
