Block’s Security culture is focused on enabling our engineering teams to build and ship secure products. We achieve this by designing, building, and operating state of the art security alongside our product and infrastructure teams.  The Block Security team works with other teams at Block to build world-class products for both customers and employees. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every single experience with Block is simple, secure, and safe.

We are looking for an engineer to shape the way we automate and maintain security services across the organization. We are looking for an innovative automation champion who can solve complex security problems and develop a security automation framework.

You will: 

• Work closely with other teams to deliver automation and operational solutions

• Be a quick learner of new technologies

• Be hands-on and a critical part of the engineering team for a high-performance product security automation framework development, evangelism, and maintenance

• Integrate security capabilities with other security pillars that include identity access management, data protection, network security and application security

You have: 

• 4+ years of technical industry experience

• Experience managing Linux applications within a cloud environment (AWS and/or GCP)

• Experience in a technical operations, devops, or SRE role

• Relational database experience - performance tuning, monitoring, and/or operations

• Experience with writing automation tools, and/or working with Infrastructure as Code
